Child of God ✴ INFP ✴ Korean-American ✴ Artist & Creator
Nadia Rausa is a Korean-American artist and creator from Alaska, USA with an Associates in Art from the University of Alaska Anchorage/Mat-Su College. Her work has been described as elegantly dark and ethereal. Nadia uses various mediums and methods, oftentimes switching up her workflow to keep herself occupied. She uses her own mental health, cultural, and other struggles and her love of Korean culture, nature, symbolism, psychology, and spirituality as inspiration for her work. Inspired also by fantasy and folklore, her work can be interpreted in many ways.
Her mediums include drawing/painting, writing, surface and pattern design, handmade artisan methods such as embroidery, needle-felting, & bookbinding, and photography.
Nadia’s goal is to always bring some magic and love into the world via her work, while representing her love of fantasy and advocating mental health, spiritual/religious freedom, and POC & LGBTQ+ communities.
Nadia is the co-owner, co-founder, and creative director of One to a Thousand LLC, a publishing company started by her and her best friend, J.L. Chabotte. JLC and Nadia invite any artists, writers/authors, and photographers to submit for their quarterly zine via the One to a Thousand website.
She is also the co-owner and co-founder of Drakon & Harmoness, a game and stationary company in the works by her and her husband, Micah Rausa. They hope to officially launch in 2021-2022 with their first game and stationary collection.
Outside of work, Nadia loves hiking, reading horror and fantasy novels, spending time with her husband, Micah, and cat, Tabby, and studying herbology. She is also a mental health advocate and counselor at her small Korean church where her and Micah help plan fun events for kids. She is also studying to become an esthetician as work outside of creating.
